Advanced Diploma of Natural Beauty, Spa and Nail Therapy
What is Natural Beauty, Spa and Nail Therapy? ACNT's Natural beauty, spa and nail therapy course is a combination of beauty treatments such as facial treatments, exfoliation, masks, wraps and nail therapy as well as the more traditional treatments such as manicures, pedicures and waxing. This course combines three very popular and complementary modalities, natural beauty, spa therapy and nail technology, integrating natural therapy treatments such as aromatherapy, massage and reflexology.
Graduates of this programme will become some of the most highly qualified and sought after therapists in Australia. Spa Therapy Training Spa Therapy is a multi billion dollar growth industry not just in Australia but around the world. ACNT has invested heavily in glamorous state of the art facilities for spa therapy training. By gaining expertise in the use of various spa treatments such as stone therapy, hydrotherapy and Indian Ayurvedic head massage, ACNT graduates will have up to the minute skills which will open doors in both the spa and beauty therapy industries.
Clinical Training and First Aid As part of the qualification students are required to complete supervised hours at the ACNT student clinic and the completion of 'Apply Basic First Aid - HLTFA1A'.
Course Inclusions Students enrolling in the entire course will receive a comprehensive beauty therapy kit including an ACNT uniform jacket, a text book, manicure and pedicure instruments, nail enhancement instruments, brushes, sponges, a makeup cape, head band, two large towels and three small towels. The CIDESCO examination is also included in the fixed course cost.
Students paying module by module may purchase these items from ‘Nourish – ACNT’s Café and Bookstore’ or online at www.acnt.edu.au/nourish and must pay the CIDESCO examination fees separately.
All students will receive electronic notes. Printed notes may be purchased from Nourish.
Industry Accreditation This course leads to the world’s most prestigious qualification in the field of aesthetics and beauty therapy, the CIDESCO Diploma. This course also leads to the ITEC (International Therapy Examination Council) Diploma, a leading UK based accreditation body. The ITEC Diploma is required by some employers, particularly in the UK, Japan and South Africa.
Separate examinations are held for CIDESCO and ITEC diplomas. Extra fees are payable for students wishing to sit the ITEC examination. However CIDESCO fees are included in the ACNT fixed course cost.
UPGRADE PATHWAYS Graduates of this course may upgrade to other qualifications at ACNT and to a degree through ACNT’s arrangements with Charles Sturt University. Graduates may upgrade to the following qualifications at ACNT, with advanced standing for modules already studied:
