ACNT recognises that not all students are able to attend classes on campus or at the times available. This may be due to geography, health issues or work commitments. For these reasons ACNT offers courses by distance education using the ‘directed learning’ model.
The ‘directed learning’ model is where students receive a study guide which walks them through their course. This study guide becomes the ‘virtual lecturer’ directing students through each lesson. ACNT has made every effort to ensure that distance education students really feel part of the ACNT community.
Both in-house and distance education students comprise people from all walks of life and from all parts of the world.
ACNT’s distance education students have access to ACNT’s world class course facilities and support. Students can contact ACNT at any time from anywhere in the world by email, telephone, fax or mail with one single point of contact.
Due to the timely nature of electronic correspondence and for the ease of students, distance education students are strongly encouraged to have access to a computer which is email and Internet enabled.

Students choose to study distance education at ACNT for the following reasons:

4. ACNT students studying naturopathy will gain additional qualifications in nutrition, western herbal medicine, homeopathy and iridology ensuring that graduates are highly educated in all modalities of natural medicine.
5. ACNT distance education students can complete an entire qualification without attending campus for any part of the course, including clinical training.

ACNT provides Internet bulletin boards in the ‘Online Café’ that allow students and ACNT’s Distance Education Division to interact in an open forum.
ACNT offers a Study Support Service which enables distance education students to contact a dedicated tutor should they require additional assistance with their course.
ACNT has a Student Portal which allows students to check their academic records, fee balances or to change their contact details over the Internet from anywhere in the world. The Student Portal enables students to gain access to information faster than ever before without waiting for invoices or academic transcripts to arrive in the mail.
Students may purchase course notes, books, product, uniforms and merchandise via ACNT’s Online Store over a secure connection on the Internet.
ACNT offers an Online Student Centre which is a central point of contact and contains a variety of areas including the ACNT Study Support Service, the Online Café, seminars and special events information, the ACNT Student Portal, the ACNT Distance Education Portal as well as links to professional associations, libraries, magazines, journals and the online ACNT Store.
