Taking detailed client history enables you to put together a comprehensive health care plan by using iridology,physical assessment and naturopathic diagnostic tecniques. Once you have considered your clients' needs and lifestyle, treatment could include supplements, herbal fluid extracts, tablets, capsules or homoeopathic remedies.

Naturopathic Framework |
This subject describes the skills and knowledge required to work effectively within a naturopathic framework. Youwill explore the concepts of holism and vitalism and learn about various methods of treatment and other complementary therapies. The structure of the industry and legalities of practice will also be addressed in this subject. |
Disease Manifestations |
Disease Manifestations aims to provide the student with a solid understanding of pathophysiology of the various body systems, and the signs and symptoms of conditions affecting these body systems. It will build upon the knowledge gained in Anatomy & Physiology, and Chemistry & Biochemistry. |
Counselling Skills |
In this subject students will learn the essential strategies of effective communication with patients. You will learn how to identify and respond to the queries, fears, and special needs of patients, and how to use basic counselling skills to facilitate treatment with the context of natural therapies. |
Applied Naturopathic Principles |
This subject introduces the student to the historical and philosophical foundations of naturopathic and herbal medicine. The primary philosophical movements and historical figures in herbal medicine will be covered, leading the student to the philosophical constructs which underpin modern naturopathy and herbal medicine. |
Herbal Fundamentals |
Herbal Fundamentals is your first Herbal Medicine subject within Naturopathy. Here you will learn in detail the core herbal medicines (core materia medica) and preparation forms (such as teas, liquids, tablets) which you will apply throughout your practice. |
Basic Microbiology & Infection Control |
Basic Microbiology & Infection Control teaches the student how to avoid and deal with potential infectious hazards in the clinical environment. |
Naturopathic Patient Assessment |
This subject will cover the art and science of case taking and physical examination. You will gain the ability to develop a probable diagnosis and prognosis to then allow treatment to proceed. |
Nutritional Fundamentals |
Nutritional Fundamentals teaches the core of nutritional knowledge. In this subject you will cover the nutritional requirements for health as well as common diets,macronutrients and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) – their role in health and disease, and how they can be used therapeutically. |
Pharmacognosy and Herbal Pharmacy |
In this subject you will learn about the fascinating world of plant chemistry and pharmacology, you will learn about the various botanical families and their features, and you how to make herbal preparations such as tinctures and ointments and syrups. In addition you will learn about the regulation of herbal medicines in Australia, and briefly look into the world of Australian native medicines. |
Advanced Nutritional Medicine |
Advanced Nutritional Medicine teaches the core of nutritional therapeutics. You will cover body systems and disease states, the impact of diet and nutrition on the prevention and management of those diseases. The use of nutritional supplementation and specific dietary modification to treat these diseases will also be covered. |
Health Business Skills |
Successful practice involves more than just being a good clinician. This subject will introduce you to the skills of small business management – how to set up and grow your business, how to manage finances, develop and implement promotion strategies and work with colleagues in a shared business. |
Critiquing Research |
This subject will introduce you to the realities of evidence-based practice by looking at scientific and research methodology, how to recognise both poor and high quality research, and then how to integrate that information with your treatment strategies. |
Naturopathic Case Management 1 |
Naturopathic Case Management 1 is the first part of your training in how to treat people and their health conditions with naturopathic medicines. Firstly you will learn review the principles of herbal and naturopathic prescribing and treatment strategy, then you will learn the combined herbal and nutritional management of conditions of a variety of body systems. Herbal medicines already learned will be reviewed, and additional medicines will be added to your materia medica knowledge. This subject also includes clinical rotations, clinical tutorials, and external clinical placement. |

Naturopathic Case Management 2 follows on from Naturopathic Case Management 1, covering the herbal and basic nutritional management of conditions affecting various body systems. Herbal medicines already learned will be reviewed, and additional medicines will be added to your materia medica knowledge. This subject also includes clinical rotations, clinical tutorials, and external placement |

Homoeopathic Essentials introduces you to the history and philosophy of homoeopathy, and its use within a naturopathic context. |
Advanced Herbal Medicine |
Advanced Herbal Medicine takes your knowledge of herbal therapeutics to a higher level, with two simultaneous streams of study. The first stream involves critiquing and integrating research into practice, herbal safety, and an introduction to the unique discipline of aromatic medicine. The second simultaneous stream covers advanced therapeutics in the areas of female and male reproductive medicine, paediatrics, geriatrics, cardiovascular and endocrine therapeutics, and mental health, HIV and cancer. Within this therapeutics stream advanced monographs on selected herbal medicines will be examined in detail. |
Acute Homoeopathic Treatment |
Acute Homoeopathic Treatment trains you in the most important homoeopathic remedies relevant to naturopathic practice. You will learn to apply homoeopathic treatments in a range of situations to complement nutritional, herbal and lifestyle treatments. |
Integrative Therapeutics |
Integrative Therapeutics brings together the various components of naturopathy in a mixed case-centred tutorial, and special lecture topic format. Specific cases will be examined from a naturopathic perspective using a modified problem-based learning style, and special topics will covered including environmental medicine, the individual and sociological aspects of stress, meditation, exercise therapy, and energetic medicine. Additionally the disciplines of iridology, tissue salts and celloids, and flower essences will be covered in depth. |
