Founded in 1920, we are Australia’s oldest professional association of complementary therapists. Representing Western herbal medicine practitioners and naturopaths, we are the only national professional association specifically concerned with the practice and education of Western herbal medicine (WHM) in Australia.
Responsible for providing office administration support, basic book keeping functions, maintaining contact with accredited Colleges offering industry-related courses, maintaining the Corporate member obligations spreadsheet to ensure that all obligations are met with a particular emphasis on the Australian Journal of Herbal Medicine and assisting the International Conference (IC) and National Seminar Series (NSS) organizing committees on an ad hoc basis, the NHAA is currently seeking an appropriate individual to fill the position of Accounts and Administration Officer on a part time basis to a maximum of 15 hours per week.
The successful candidate will be required to have:
– Experience in general office administration support including being a primary contact point for enquiries on their work days;
– At least 3 years experience in an administrative position preferably in the not-for-profit industry in small teams;
– Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft products; and
– High-level oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and team work skills and a collaborative work style.
It is desirable that the successful candidate will have experience in working with MYOB but not essential as we can train the successful candidate in the basic responsibilities.
An understanding of herbal medicine, naturopathy and the complementary medicine industry is highly desirable.
